  1. The Build Units menu allows you to use your domestic        stockpile of goods such as IRON, HORSES, MEN and TIMBER     to construct military units (INFANTRY, CAVALRY, etc).       You may also list the costs of various units, see your      current domestic stockpile of goods, etc.                   This menu option allows you to move any units which still   have moves remaining.  For each unit being moved, a list    of special actions allowed appears on the right.  For       example, Engineers may C = COLLECT TIMBER or L = LOAD       TO SHIP.                                                    The DIPLOMACY menu allows you to view current relations,    declare Alliances or War, send messages, read your mail,    etc.                                                                                                                                                                                The ECONOMICS Menu is most helpful in listing your current  production, number of units active (or in guard mode),      and the current grain-requirements of your kingdom.  You    may also BUY goods (if, for example, you are short of       iron or horses) or place goods in your trade stockpile.     If your color is offensive to the eye, difficult to tell    from another player, or you just plain prefer a different   color, then you may Change your color with this option.                                                                                                                             If you receive line noise, or simply want to view the       land surrounding your castle, the DISPLAY MAP option will   serve you well.  The map is automatically displayed as      needed when moving units.                                                                                               The HELP file is a horrid text file which contains so       little information that it is barely useful at all.  This   option will, however, allow you to view it.                                                                                                                                         You may desire to move the units that have been placed      in Guard mode.  They will automatically wake if they are    attacked, but you may force them up by selecting this       option.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     The cost chart displays the number and type of each good    required (IRON, GOLD, TIMBER, etc) to build any given       unit (INFANTRY, CAVALRY, SHIP, etc).  The offense and       defense of each unit is also listed.                                                                                    The Number of units are automatically listed as units       are purchased.  Nevertheless, sometimes it is desirable     to list the units without buying one.  This information     is also displayed from the Economics Menu's List Production option.                                                     Only the units that you can currently afford to build       with goods from you DOMESTIC stockpile are listed.  If      you change your mind or decide not to build any more units, simply hit Escape to return to the previous menu.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Infantry units are the weakest combat troops, but they      can move over SWAMP terrain (which cavalry cannot) and      they are cheap.  They make great village guards, ballista   escorts and cannon fodder.                                                                                              The Archer is an expensive but capable unit.  The range     of an archer is nothing close to that of a ballista or      catapult, but Archers are able to attack villages, slash    forests and move on more diverse terrain.  Archers are      worthless in toe-to-toe combat.                             Cavalry is the backbone of the military in WarWorld.        These units are relatively cheap, tough and exceptionally   fast.  They do tend to eat abit of grain, so it is wise     to be aware of how many are built, how many are active,     and how much grain you'll need to feed them all.            Heavy Cavalry are only slightly slower than cavalry and     a great deal stronger.  One Heavy Cavalry can guard quite   a bit of land, since most enemy units will simply go away   rather than fight one.  They are grain-hungry and not       a very cost-effective peace-time unit.                      The ballista is largely a defensive weapon, due to its      low move-rate and inability to move over forest terrain.    Once in possition, however, the ballista can fire over      any type of terrain at units up to 6 squares away.  Hidden  in villages, they can be quite deadly.                      The Catapult is rather like the ballista but more expensive,slower, but capable of firing at a greater distance.        The Catapult also inflicts greater damage with each hit.    Also incapable of moving over forest, the catapult requires another unit to SLASH the timber in order to pass.          The seige unit is useless against anything but an opponent'scastle.  Against an opponents castle, however, it is        devastating.  A castle "under seige" will blink.  The       units of a castle under-seige often become so demoralized   that they desert.                                           The Engineer is the weakest but most useful unit.  Engineerscan build bridges or canals (either requires 1 TIMBER).     They may also collect TIMBER and drop it on the castle.     This is most important as TIMBER is required to build       many other types of units.                                  SHIPs cannot move on land.  If your castle is land-locked   then you must use engineers to dig a canal to the ocean!    Ships are the only units capable of carrying other units    (and often a much speedier way of travelling).  Beware:     If a ship goes down then all aboard will perish!            The scout is a handy unit, if a tad expensive.  His move    rate of 30 makes him ideal for spying on the enemy (add     the fact that, to the enemy players, the scout appears      as a tree!).  There is some mention of a 'trick' whereby    the scout can actually hide other units as well!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The Send Messages option will allow you to send a private   message to another player in the game.                                                                                                                                                                                                          The Read Message option will allow you to read your private mail.  If you have mail waiting, then the MAIL flag will    be flashing on the KINGDOM MENU.                                                                                                                                                    This option will allow you to make an announcement to       the other players in the game.  If you declare an alliance  or declare war on another player, then an announcement      is automatically generated.                                                                                             The new announcements are displayed when the game is first  entered, but if you wish to read them again then you may    select this option.                                                                                                                                                                 You begin the game Neutral with all other players.  If      you declare WAR on another player, then that player will    not be able to buy your goods.  If you declare an ALLIANCE, then your ally will receive a 10% discount when buying      your goods.  An alliance can win the game.                  If you wish to get an idea how well (or how poorly) you     are doing in relation to the other players, then select     this option.  Players are awarded 100 points for villages   and one point each for the Offensive value of their units.                                                              If you wish to quit the game, FOREVER, then select this     option.  Be warned, you won't be able to get back in until  the game is concluded!                                                                                                                                                              This option displays a chart depicting the diplomatic       relations between all of the players in the game.  Read     from your name across to the column beneath a different     player's castle to determine your relations with that       player.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Select this option to change the price you are charging     other players to purchase your goods (IRON, GRAIN, HORSES   and TIMBER).  Remember that players you have declared       as ALLIES will receive a 10% discount.                                                                                  This option allows you to move goods from your DOMESTIC     stockpile (what you use to build units) to your TRADE       stockpile (what you'll allow other players to buy).  It     may be necessary to sell some of one thing in order to      obtain enough GOLD to purchase what you need.               This is one of the most useful options.  You may list       your total number of units, GRAIN requirements and all      of your production values (the number and type of goods     produced per turn).  Don't build more units than you can    feed!                                                       Select this option to purchase IRON, HORSES, GRAIN or       TIMBER from other players.  Often you will have a severe    shortage of something and an abundance of something else.
